I know today is November 13th but we are celebrating Valentine's Day. We have to send cards far in advance so they can get back to families before the holidays. The deadline for Valentine's cards is January 7th 2011! Please don't wait until the last minute to send your cards.

Here is my Valentine's card

The heart is heat embossed with red embossing powder.

 1.NO GLITTER! We can never use glitter!

2.If you use a dark card stock(as I did today) please make sure you line the inside of the card in lighter paper so it is easy to read what is written.

Making a card for a girl is easy. I have 2 girls. We know lots of girls. Most of the girls love pink. I work well with pink do PINK it is.

This challenge was to make a child's birthday card. My style always goes right to a card for a little girl because I have 2 little girls. Any little girl would be happy to open this card.

Hero Arts challenge- hearts

Hero Arts was kind enough to host a card making party for Operation Write Home. They challenged their members to make 500 cards this weekend and send them to OWH. They had challenges and prizes along with games. It was a lot of fun. I made 9 cards and I will share them here. Unfortunately I do not have any hero arts stamps. I love them and I need to get some ASAP. Thank You Hero Arts for supporting our efforts to help the troops stay in touch with their families.

OWH is having a birthday bash the entire month of September. We will have lots of different challenges. The first challenge is to make a Halloween card. Here is my card

The deadline for Halloween cards in Sept 20th. I don't know if this guy is going to make it so maybe he will go to a special friend.

This week's challenge is great. Make a card using a die cut, punch, ribbon and embossing. I missed the ribbon part until now. OOPS. Sorry.

Happy Anniversary

I made this card for my mother. She is going to a party. This is a 5x5 square. I love square cards but they do cost extra postage if you are going to mail them.

I also made the matching envelope.

A birthday card

This is not a card for OWH and will not be going through the mail. That is why I put the 3-D items. I don't normally get a chance to do this. So much fun.

The candles were tough. They wanted to stick to me but not to each other. I even made a matching envelope.

OWH Challenge #29

This week we were given another sketch from OWH. The sketches are great because they cause you to think in a different way.

Here is my card. I am backing off of the holiday cards for a bit.

The patterned paper is from the American Girl stack available only at Michaels.

The challenge was to make a card using patterned paper. I am late posting because this was last week's challenge but here it is. I normally wouldn't have put pink flowers with zebra paper but I think it works.

A great birthday card for a girlfriend.

After I made the sympathy card I had that paper sitting here and I though about how much I love it. I wanted to make a card to send with my next OWH package. I made this -Thinking of you card

Simple Sympathy card for a friend

My friend lost her father in law this week. I sent her this card. It was simple but said what I wanted it to say. On the inside it said "I'm praying for you".
